Fresh Article Writers Bring Fresh Perspectives

There's nothing wrong with reaching beyond yourself and your marketing team for some added perspective on the articles you produce. In fact, it can open new doors that might otherwise stay closed.
There are two ways of looking at the job of your article writers:
1. They can say something that you yourself might say if you had the time, interest and/or writing background needed to say it compellingly.
2. They can say something that you haven't thought of, probably wouldn't think of or otherwise couldn't know.
Internal Writers
One of the easiest and most fruitful ways to expand your authorial base is to draw from the people you already work with each day. Maybe it's someone who's not in your main marketing division but in accounting, customer relations, sales or administration. These individuals often have a different yet relevant perspective on the function of your organization and how it excels. Other benefits include:
- Boosting morale around the office
- Identifying new talents and interests amongst employees
- Landing on new ideas
Industry Colleagues
A peer in your industry could also offer both a unique perspective and industry or third-party credibility. You might offer to write an article for their website as well. If your colleague currently has more visibility than you do, this could also be a good way to expand your audience.
Pros
Unlike colleagues and coworkers, who may only contribute single or periodic articles, professional article writers are reliable sources of ongoing posts. Other qualities that professional writers bring include:
- Familiarity with other articles in the space
- Expertise in a new practice area you might be trying to break into
- Proven and consistent writing ability
