Article Marketing 101 – What You Need to Know

The only way to talk about article marketing is to keep the purpose in mind. Think (and thank) back links. Let's get down to the fundamentals. There is a test, by the way.
Why are back links important? The search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing etc...) make their money by advertising to folks, just like you, who are seeking high quality, relevant results when entering a search term or keyword. For example, the key phrase, "article marketing" will return millions of web pages and sites that are rank ordered according to what the search engines deem high quality and relevant content.
The search engine results pages (SERP's) give a web site better mojo when its content is good. But to really rock you need other good sites and pages (that also are well ranked) to link to your site. That way more people find you and everybody wins. You do that by writing articles then submitting them to directories that provide good content.
Rule 1 of Article Marketing 101 is that, by writing stuff that helps people solve problems, feel better, teaches how to do something , or just informs intelligently and passionately then you'll
attract searchers . But remember - these articles are for people and must be well written and informative.
Rule 1.5 is that the article must have the key words that searchers are seeking. But you can't stuff them in willy-nilly. Do it right and you balance search engine and reader's needs. It's almost Zen.
Okay. Here's your test. What are the keywords or phrases in this entry? Get it right and you've passed Article Marketing 101.
