Content Marketing Weekly Wrap Up –Video Marketing Tips

Here at Interact Media, we are, quite frankly, a little bit excited about our foray into the world of video. Our new content marketing video is highly ranked on YouTube, and will soon become a cult phenomenon among content marketers, we are quite sure. It's this kind of confidence that guarantees success, don't you think?
We wish it were that simple. Of course, belief in your abilities goes a long way. But, as anyone who has ever filmed anything can tell you, the final product is a reflection of how much time and effort you put into it. If you are thinking about joining the growing number of businesses using video to market their products and services, here are some helpful pointers I've gleaned from those in the know:
1. Use the right equipment- This does not mean expensive. You can get advice on where to find low-cost cameras and accessories doing a simple search. Try Mark Apsolon's video on YouTube for a couple of good options. Today's cameras are compact, agile and pretty high quality considering their price point. Make sure you invest in a tripod- unless you want your video to look like it was filmed during an earthquake.
2. Lighting & audio- Good lighting can make the difference between an amateur production and one that looks polished and professional. The same goes for audio quality. Make sure you aren't sitting with a window behind you, and for goodness sake please enunciate.
3. Keep it short & sweet- You have a lot to say. Say it in 10 minutes or less. It's the law (on YouTube, anyway).
Finally, treat your videos as you would any other piece of content you present on the Internet. That's exactly what they are. They reflect your business, and they can either make you look credible or, well, not so much so. For more information on putting together pro videos, check out the Videomaker site.
And before you put something out there, remember this- the Internet is forever.
