SEO Marketing - Should You Make Them Laugh?

Should SEO marketing be a serious endeavor, or is there room to laugh every once in a while?
Many companies, when developing their SEO strategies, view the matter to be of such seriousness, their websites can come across dry, stale and yes, boring. And as a result, who looks at them and remembers them?
Just like in real life, there is always room in a website for a little bit of well-placed humor. If you can find a way to add humor to your SEO marketing endeavors, that's even better.
It doesn't have to be anything that's completely outrageous. A picture that makes someone smile can lend a great deal to an otherwise serious website. If you add your keywords somewhere in that cutline, you've enhanced your website's searchability, without slapping your visitors in the face with your efforts.
A video can also work the same way. I'm not talking about adding
a clip that will make them laugh so hard that they ignore the rest of your website. But if a little piece of podcasting that emphasises your keywords will help people find your site, it's okay if the podcast contains something that will make those visitors chuckle a little and remember your site.
And if they find the video or photo interesting enough, those visitors might just decide that your site is worth tweeting about or sharing on Facebook, and before long, you've attracted more visitors.
Before adding humor to your site, make sure that it used appropriately. For example, if the site is for a funeral home, adding humor would be highly inappropriate!
But if your site needs livened up a little (and no, funeral home sites don't fall under that category), you might want to consider adding a little bit of well-placed humor here and there.
If laughter is the best medicine, then it might just be the cure to your SEO marketing woes.
