SEO Company - Who Do You Believe?

"Believe nothing of what you hear, and half of what you see."

We've all heard that phrase, but do we really believe in it when it counts?

Sometimes, being too optimistic can really hurt our business efforts, and unfortunately, there are a lot of unscrupulous companies on the Internet.
If you're looking for a SEO company to keep your website at the top of all the search engines, you'll find a lot of places will make you some nice promises, but how do you make sure you're getting the best deal for your buck?

With the economy being in a decline there are suddenly many companies promising that your site will hit the top of the search engines, if you only hire them. Ironically, you can't find a good company by doing a Google search, even though you are expecting them to put you up there. There's more to a good SEO company than one that ends up at the top of the searches.
Here are some things to look for:

         * Do they offer a variety of services? A good SEO company will work to help you build your site by doing blog postings, using social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter. A bad one will just offer to help you put keywords all over your site. Yes, the keywords will attract visitors and you'll look good on Google, but nobody will want to visit or stay on that site.

         * Who is doing the work? Are they farming it out to independent contractors who get paid a few pennies a word to perform SEO services, when they really are not the experts you need?

         * Whose sites have they worked with? A reputable company will be able to provide you with links so you can see how those sites have grown.

         * What does their own site look like? A good SEO company won't tolerate a bad website.

Take your time, and hire the best. Your web presence depends on it.
