How to Showcase Your Best SEO Efforts

Have you ever created anything that makes you want to show it off to the world?
It's really no different with your best SEO efforts. In fact, if you've done your best optimizing a website, thousands of people will end up seeing your hard work. So really, the best way to showcase your best SEO efforts is to make them work to bring visitors to your site.
One way to do that is through achieving as many backlinks as possible. What is a backlink? A backlink occurs when one website adds links that take visitors to another website. The more backlinks your website is able to receive, the better it is for that site's SEO results. If a site is a successful, reliable source, it will receive backlinks from other websites.
Sound complicated? It's really not. For example, most posts on Twitter. If someone likes something that they've seen, they'll put out a link to it on Twitter so other people can read it.
Since I needed a little information to explain backlinks, I went to wikipedia, where you can read more about them at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backlink.
There, I've just given you a backlink.
How Can I Get People to Backlink my Site?
That's where your best SEO efforts will come into play. When others are looking for something along your site's subject lines, are they able to find your site, or is your opportunity for effective SEO work being wasted?
If nobody can find your site, they can't backlink to it. If your site isn't getting backlinks, then you'll find that your traffic is suffering and you'll lose visitors.
How Can I Tell if it's Working?
Every website can have its traffic easily and completely analyzed through a variety of choices. I like www.backlinkwatch.com for its ease of use. You type in your site, or any other, and it not only tells you if you have backlinks, but where they are.
Once you determine who is using your site and how they're using it, you can determine if your SEO efforts are working.
