Weeding Out the SEO Companies that Don't Deliver

I saw an interesting advertisement the other night.
It was for one of those SEO companies that promise to get subscribers on the Google front page within a week after signing on with them.
Just one week, can you imagine? So out of curiousity, I clicked onto the link and found a company that listed promises and testimonials on a flashy website.
To the casual observer, it seemed as if this company would be a great place to sign onto. One week to Google success? Who could pass that up!
As it turned out, it wasn't so hard to pass up, once I put the site to the Google test. I went through that website and picked out what appeared to be its SEO words, and searched for them on Google.
Funny, for a website that promises to put others on the front page of Google, this site didn't deliver for itself. How on earth, then, would this company help anyone else?
With the Internet, anyone who has a few minutes, a web domain host and money to register can become among the many businesses that market themselves as SEO companies.
Those websites can look very professional and can lure people needing SEO services into becoming customers.
But anyone can have a website and anyone can take your money without delivering. If you're looking for someone to perform your SEO services, hire that person or company's services just like you would hire out any kind of work.
Get a second opinion. Check out their references, too. If they're as great as they claim to be, they'll have other clients that they have helped lead to the top of the search engines.
And Google those SEO companies yourself. If they're any good, they'll be high up on Google themselves. They'll know the methods they need to get results, and they'll use them.
Money is hard to earn and keep these days. Don't throw it away on SEO companies that have a lot of style in their websites, but very little substance.
