5 Easy Ways To Reuse Blog Content

In a ReelSEO.com article, the author lamented over the repeated reuse of a
particular movie clip about Hitler that continues to go viral almost every time this clip is used. While it seems strange that the same clip can almost guarantee a viral status, one cannot argue that it does work.
Is the same true for blogs and other types of content? Absolutely. It is difficult to find truly unique content. What if you had a very successful blog? Should you reuse or recycle the content? Is that considered poor taste, even if it’s your own blog? Reusing your blog content is by no means a faux pas. As a matter of fact, it is a great technique.
Here are some quick and easy ways to reuse your blog content:
-
Cross-post to other sites. If your article only exists on your website, consider posting it on Facebook, or linking it on Twitter. Also consider posting it to forums or professional sites such as LinkedIn.
-
Create emails that include your articles and blogs. Select several of your most popular blogs based on number of readers or responses. Then leverage that popularity by resurrecting the content into an email.
-
Challenge your subscribers to provide their insights and perspectives on your blog content. Many times you can get a new perspective on your older content. You can then leverage that feedback into new posts.
-
Choose a more specific portion of your blog, and focus on it. For example, if your blog discussed numerous ways that a product could be used, pick one of those ways to use the product. You can then build a blog around that particular issue, adding statistics and metrics in more detail or a more personalized success story.
-
Construct a campaign around your content. Develop an entertaining game where readers become part of a scavenger hunt to find answers in your blog. Offer an incentive or reward for subscribers who send in the correct answer to a question you pose from the article. If you offer a product or service, perhaps a discount offer could be used as well.
The mantra to “keep it fresh” is drilled into everyone’s heads when it comes to creating blog content. While this is true, you can always be “refreshing” by using content that you already have in your back pocket!
