How To Create Website Content For Your 3 Types Of Visitors

When creating website content, you must make sure it is informative content. Your content should engage your visitors and pique their interest in what you have to offer. It should be focused and interesting to all three types of online visitors to your site:

  1. Strangers: Visitors who don't know anything about you.

  2. Friends: Visitors who already like your company.

  3. Fans: Visitors who LOVE your company.

Strangers

To create website content that will catch the attention of strangers, you have to decide on website contentthe first thing you want them to see. These visitors are searching for answers to a particular question. Your job is to answer that question with your content.

They may be trying to solve a problem that a search engine felt you could solve. They may just be searching for information about a product or service they heard about and were directed to your site from another site. You need to figure out what questions these type of visitors may have and answer them with your content. Great content will most likely turn your strangers into friends. For more information, read this blog on Choosing the Right Content.

Friends

Friends already know you, but would like to get to know you better. What they do know about you, they already like. The best way to connect with them is through website content that shares relevant experiences, turning your friends into fans.

  • Share stories about and people like them. This can be experiences from your company's point-of-view, or customer experiences with your company, product or service.

  • Appeal to their humanitarian side. Provide website content that tells stories that show how your product or service could help them impact the life of someone else.

  • Appeal to your visitor's inner-child by telling stories with sense of child-like wonderment. Make your stories exciting. Include appealing photos and videos that your friends may enjoy.

  • Educate them on what it is your company does. This does not mean just promoting your product or service. IE, a piano repair company may find posting an article like “How to Know When to Tune Your Piano” very helpful to their visitors.

Fans

Fans are visitors who already know and love you. Creating website content for fans can be fun as it involves interacting with them regularly. They're looking for easy ways to help spread the word about you. Your job is to find ways to make this as easy as possible.

website contentClear calls to action are vitally important here. Tell your fans exactly what it is they can do to help you. Social networking is a great tool to accomplish this. They can “Like” you on Facebook, Retweet your tweets on Twitter, Share your links on MySpace, “Digg” your articles on Digg, even “Follow” your blog updates online.

There are numerous social networking websites that allow your visitors to share your content quickly and easily. Your blogs and sites should include social networking widgets to enable “one-click” online sharing of your website content. Fans like having easy access to finding out what you are up to. They enjoy engaging in community forums that allow them to discuss your niche with other fans. Providing an RSS Feed to your site allows them to quickly find out about any updates to your site.

Fans feel empowered when you provide them with informative content that they can access later, on their own time. Two great ways to do this are with newsletter subscriptions and website downloads from your site:

  • Newsletters – Gives your fans the power to subscribe to information, and opt-out of their subscription at any time. This gives you a chance to share content with your fans on a regular basis via email. It provides them with information they can forward and pass along to others.

  • Downloads – Can consist of ebooks, informative articles, video content, even photos. This content can be downloaded on-demand as your fans see fit. Fans can save their downloads on their computer to access it at a later time. This gives them the power to share their downloads with others.

Now that you have an understanding on how to create website content for your three types of visitors, it's time to get started. This will be an ongoing project if you want it to make an impact on your visitors. Your content must be informative and relevant, and you need to provide new website content regularly.

Good Simple Post.

Its true and also i do agree that we should give relative importance to our friends while we develop a Website Content. Bcz most of the times friends would act as a media of advertisement which yields traffic to your website.
