3 Ways To Create Unique Content That Stands Out From The Rest

As content marketing has grown in popularity, the mantra “Content is king!” has rung out from
almost every keyboard. Of course, content marketing’s newfound popularity means that everyone is generating huge amounts of content (some of it not very good, either). Now you need unique content - that boost that lifts you above the sea of content and gets your business noticed as a thought leader.
But therein lies the challenge - how do you create fresh content when it seems like it's all been done before? Here are three tips to get you started on the road to thought leadership and credibility:
1. Hire someone to write your content. You could hire a journalist or a blogger, someone who can produce something beyond the typical white papers and case studies. Talk to your writer and get him or her to mine your story.
2. Research your market. It almost goes without saying, but to create unique content that really engages your customers and prospects, you need to know their pain points and how to alleviate that pain. Get to know your market. Research everything you can. Create surveys. Talk to people on the front lines of the industry. And then circle back to #1 and hire someone to tell that story in a way that hasn’t been told before.
3. Have fun. If your industry allows for some tongue-in-cheek content, create unique content that is fun and engaging. Think outside the typical content pieces and consider new ways of presenting your content - a graphic novel, perhaps? Get creative - maybe a series of how-tos (which always get plenty of hits) or interviews with subject matter experts will add a new perspective to your content marketing strategy. Anything more exciting than the typical, dry PDF most companies offer as a download will do!
Google Panda rewards unique content, but content marketing is about more than just outsmarting that bamboo-eating sloth. Grab a cup of coffee and start brainstorming on what you can do that hasn’t been done by any of your competitors, and you’ll have the content you need to drive sales and increase your credibility.
