When it comes to blogs and social media, there are several ways that you can increase your exposure online to maximize the number of people that are aware of your company's presence. Below are six of the easiest ways that you can utilize blogs and social media:
.) Get a Twitter account. Sign up for a Twitter account and start accruing "followers". This process will be slow at first, but if you regularly "tweet" things that are valuable to readers, like coupon codes or helpful hints, you'll find Twitter to be a valuable tool.
.) Sign up for Facebook. To get a standard Facebook page, you need to use your real name - or, you can make up a fictitious character. If you want your company to have its own Facebook page, you'll need to sign up for a different kind of account. Make sure to follow the rules, or you can get banned from the site.
.) Get a MySpace account. MySpace isn't as popular as it used to be, but it can still be a valuable asset if you use it properly.
.) SEO enhance your blog. By peppering your posts with SEO key phrases, you'll increase your standings in the search engines, and more people will organically discover your blogs and social media pages.
.) Start building links! Find people or companies with similar blogs, and link to them. Then, request that they do the same. Most people will be happy to get the increased exposure, and will gladly return the favor.
.) Reevaluate your content. Is your content valuable to readers, or is it just sort of...there? If your content is good, people will keep coming back for more. On the other hand, if your content is substandard, readers won't return.
