So Who IS Creating Your Content For Social Media?

social media content

Are you a lone wolf?

Do you like to go your own way, doing everything yourself? Do you shun help from anybody, because you know that nobody can do what you need as well as you can?

The lone wolf gets a lot of respect in the world. After all, he’s strong, independent, and capable.

But in the end, he’s awfully lonely.

And if you’re a lone wolf with your website and its marketing, you might just find your site is getting lonely as well.

Oh, you may have tried a social media campaign on your own for business. You made a Facebook page, you joined Twitter and gathered a couple hundred followers. You might have even started writing a blog. But after awhile, you’re probably noticing that your website is feeling pretty lonely too.

After all, like Barbra Streisand sang a long time ago, people need people. And so do websites.

You might be a pretty successful lone wolf, but should you go it alone when it comes time to create content for social media campaigns?

Getting a social media buzz is not as easy as posting a few tweets or status updates on Facebook. It takes more than that to be successful -- and you can go the team route or you can go with one really good social media marketing professional.

But your content for social media and how you present it means a lot more than just those few random posts. Here are some of the possible team members you might consider:

  • Content Marketing Copywriter -- A professional will know how to maximize your copy so that it comes to the forefront of Internet searches. This means more than just some creative placement of keywords or phrases; it means maximizing your content for social media in a way that gets people to not only read it, but refer it to their friends.
  • Content Marketer -- This professional will lead the customers who will be purchasing your product or service to your site. They’ll know who to contact, for maximum effect, to sell your product and they will know how to speak to those customers in a way that will make them respond.
  • Social media administrator-- This person will take your message to the major social media sites, making sure that it gets out in a way that makes potential customers respond. They might do this through posting on the major sites, or through purchasing paid advertising on those sites that helps lead customers to you.

Meanwhile, don’t forget to enlist the help of those around you when it comes to providing good content for social media.  Encourage your fellow employees to follow your site on their personal Facebook or Twitter accounts -- and to post exciting activities on those sites when applicable.

Also don’t forget the power of guest blogging. After all, people don’t always want to listen to you. If you can find a guest blogger, that will add another dimension to your website; another viewpoint. It also makes your site look more desirable because when people want to guest on your site, that means it’s a site that’s gaining attention.

Not only that, but when a guest blogger posts, that person brings over people from his/her own website to visit your site. If you can find a guest blogger whose own site is extremely popular, that one post you enlist could eventually bring in a great deal of other traffic. Enlisting a guest blogger is a wonderful way of getting the word about your site out there.

So it’s up to you. One good professional might meet your site’s needs, or a team of dedicated workers can split up the social media needs. Either way, you'll be getting the word about your site out there among all those who you want to attract -- and hopefully even spend money.

And while you might love living the lone wolf lifestyle, a website was never meant to be all alone. It was meant to be visited by as many people as it can attract, and it was meant to keep those people around. When it comes to creating the content for social media that your site needs, just keep in mind that one good professional -- or a company that can provide the team work your site needs -- can help alleviate your social media marketing woes.
